ABOUT OUR LOCATION
A visitor to The Old Forge is well-placed to enjoy the following activities:- horse riding, fishing,mountain biking, walking and climbing, sailing,canoeing, bird-watching,golf. Only 15 mins. drive from Conwy and the A55, from where the N. Wales coast and Anglesey can be explored. 25 mins. takes you to Betws, thence Llanberis, Beddgelert and the Peaks. There are National Trust Houses at Bodelwyddan and Penrhyn Castles, Bodnant Gardens and Plas Newydd. Castles abound; in addition to the above, Conwy, Caernarfon and Beaumaris boast magnicent structures. Close to Llanrwst is Gwydir Castle, which is worth a visit. Mediaeval churches offer another view of the past - Llanbedr Y Cennin and Caerhun have small barrel vaulted naves. Llanrhychwyn, Llangyelynin and Llanrwst are all worth a visit, the latter housing the stone sarcophagus of Llewelyn Fawr. The Conwy Valley is also accessible by train, from Llandudno Junction via Betws to Blaenau Ffestiniog and onward, by narrow gauge to Porthmadog.

The Old Forge's cosy comfort makes it a great place to return to after a day of outdoor activity. It is an ideal centre for walks and there are many pubs, offering good hospitality within easy reach.
